Immensely lame....

A comic friend of mine rave (and rave) about this film (calling it amazing and brilliant among other things). I also noticed there were a ton of five star reviews on this page. After some investigation, it turns out that many of those five star reviews were done by people who just reviewed Mystery Team and have never reviewed another film on this site. Were they so deeply moved by the brilliance of Mystery Team to review it, or was it that someone in connection with the film itself was just hyping their own movie by posting five star reviews under different names? Regardless, I decided to check it out.

Boy, do I regret that decision.

This is a really bad, lame, amateurishly scripted "comedy" with a few mild chuckles at best. To call this tripe amazing, hilarious, and brilliant is an insult to actual films that are brilliant, amazing, and hilarious. Any of John Waters's early work, the Naked Gun movies, Python, Chappelle, etc., etc., can run rings around this film. This film got a lot of buzz on the festival circuit (mostly SXSW and Sundance), but like many hyped indie films, it's a really big disappointment.

Don't waste your time.

Amazing and Long Awaited Film

The only mixed feeling that I had about this film was that i was deprived of derrick comedy sketches for well over a year. It was well worth the wait. Their signature brand of spastic and unexpected comedy translated surprisingly well to the big screen. The claims that this movie is childish are totally unfounded. Whimsical at times, yes, but not childish. Not everyone appreciates their brand of humor. If all your favorite movies has National Lampoon's in the title, this probably isn't for you. If you enjoy a fun comedy, with hilarious actors, than this is your film.

Also to the people accusing the derrick comedy cast/crew/whatever packing these reviews, you're infantile. Even if they were doing that (which i doubt) what do you think you would do if you grew out of nothing and made your first movie? I know i'd promote mine, and i bet you would too.

Derrick does it again

I have been a fan of Derrick Comedy for years and have watched all of their videos. I heard about Mystery Team a few months before it came out, but couldn't find it online anywhere or playing in theaters. I kind of gave up on seeing it but about a year later some of my friends found out that it was playing in Cambridge, MA. We went down to see it and met D.C. Pierson and Meggie McFadden. The movie was great, I almost pre-ordered it, which I never do. This is a great movie and I think anyone would enjoy it.

TERRIBLE BOY/GUY HUMOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 stars really? I must have watched a different film than the others. This was undoubtedly the worst movie I have ever rented. It was a complete waste of time and money. It was painfully awful and the longer I watched the more disappointing it got. I think I may have chuckled once, but not loud enough for anyone to notice. The best way to describe this film is GUY HUMOR!! No offense boys, but I bet the people giving this film 5 stars were guys between the ages of 16-30. If you like the mix of boyish silly and crude comedy, you might enjoy this. Otherwise, stay away!!!

Mystery Team

I purchased this at the request of my son who is an adult living in Japan at the moment. I know he is happy with the purchase and I'm sure it's a great buy!
